Nomura Code is a registered marketmaker in over 40 pharmaceutical, healthcare and biotechnology stocks including those of all our corporate clients. This marketmaking list is divided between full listings and those which are listed on AIM. As a marketmaker our objective is to provide liquidity in these stocks either directly to our institutional clients or indirectly to private clients via retail brokers. Where necessary we have the means to commit capital to ensure that our clients are able to execute their orders in our marketmaking stocks at the best possible prices, which is a particularly valuable service in small companies whose shares are very rarely traded. As a marketmaker we are also responsible for maintaining an orderly market in our clients’ shares at all times. Thanks to our relationships with leading institutional and retail brokers we have established a strong, sometimes dominant marketmaking position in the life sciences sector.
